A home from home

The apartment at Buzludzha 51 is the perfect base to explore Sofia from. It beats all hotels hands down. The apartment block is on a quiet one-way street a short walk from the Palace of Culture transport hub where all modes of public transport meet. The entrance, although secure, is unassuming and discrete, covered in grafitti and advertising fliers. The stairs are also a bit run-down owing to the age of the building and some grumpy flat-owners.
However, once you enter the flat it is a delight and an oasis of calm. The two bedrooms are comfortably furnished with lots of storage. One has a TV. The large living room is also very attractively and comfortably furnished. The kitchen has a full set of appliances, incl. a dishwasher and a washing machine. The owners have their eye on important details, such as providing complimentary dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee, sugar, salad dressings, napkins, etc., all of which makes you feel well looked-after.
The bathroom is beautiful and functional using district heating and hot water supply which does not run out halfway through your shower. The towels and toiletries are of superior quality matching that of a five-star hotel.
Just across the street there is a small but well-stocked branch of the Fantastico supermarket.
