Price / performance fit, restaurant really good
We liked:
The reception was friendly and nice.
The rooms were neat us clean, furnishings reasonable but not modern.
We did not use the wellness area (swimming pool / sauna).
The breakfast (booked for 10,- €) was really good and rich for the price.
The restaurant is really good, eaten there several times in the evening, all very delicious, freshly prepared, large portions and quick on the table.
Charging station for 2 electric vehicles available in the courtyard, usable with many cards / chips.
We didn't like it that much:
In the room the rest of our predecessor's food was in the fridge, cleaning staff inattentive.
The Booking Referral said "Garden View", live it was the view into the courtyard with parked vehicles and a large chestnut tree.

Excellent!!
After our hike we stopped at the Hotel Kaiserhof in Kelbra. The food came quickly and was delicious. The service was very good and the decor was very comfortable. There was a cozy fireplace. We can recommend the restaurant and would gladly come back.

Great price/performance ratio, it simply couldn't be better!
I booked into the Hotel Kaiserhof for 3 nights and can recommend it without reservation.
The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating.
My room was super clean and modern.
The bed was also very comfortable and the bathroom had more than enough space and was super clean.
The restaurant in the hotel had very high quality food at reasonable prices, I can only recommend the brown trout in almond butter coating, it was excellent!
The breakfast was also very plentiful and everything was fresh and of the best quality, the 10 euro for that was very, very well invested!
This hotel deserves 4 stars.

Sufficient for our needs but nothing special
The hotel is in the centre of Kelbra and perfectly situated for the trips we were planning. The reception and service were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of room for parking. The room we had booked was not yet prepared, and so we took another. The room had a balcony but the view was dreary (not helped by the weather). On our first night, the hotel restaurant was closed at 8pm, and so we chose to go elsewhere (although there is very little choice in Kelbra). The second night we ate at the hotel and the food was OK, but overpriced. The breakfast was very limited and overpriced for limited offer.
The first night we tried to sleep with the window open, but there was a strong smell of coal burning, which I don't think came from the hotel but was in the air all around. Although the hotel was otherwise very adequate, the price was a little high for the quality and facilities offered.

Nice, friendly stay
The hotel is in the middle of the small town Kelbra. Although the hotel lobby looks a bit dull and small, the rooms are very spacious and clean. No coffee or minibar available in the rooms. Breakfast is served in the restaurant, the choice is limited but try the breadrolls because they are great. If you want you can make yourself a lunch package, just ask for it so that they bake some more bread. The restaurant has a large variety of dishes and you can also ask for the dish of the day or pastry (which is not mentioned in the menu). The regional cuisine was good, however the pasta wasn't. The hotel has also a swimming pool and parking is available.
