Great Value B and B
Our travel plans were in tatters after a delayed ferry crossing so we needed somewhere to stay near Santander. We booked in over the ships internet to the Posada Gran Sol and found it with not too much trouble as we had done our homework. If travelling from Santander you leave the motorway, skirt the Solvay plant and head up the hill towards Santilliana. The turning is on the left just before some traffic lights and a long bend to the right down a small road which looks like someone’s driveway. It’s on the right a little way down and is now painted pale green unlike the pictures on the internet. The owner came out to greet us and gave us a warm welcome in Spanish. The room was spotlessly clean and simply furnished and decorated, with central heating. She showed us that to obtain hot water we would need to run the tap for a few minutes. She offered us a simple breakfast at a time of our choice and the next morning at 7.30 am it was served in a nearby small room and consisted of real coffee, a large croissant to share and two squares of cake- which at 3 euros for two was a steal.( We had needed to eat quite early the previous evening and drove a couple of miles to Santilliana as there seemed to be nowhere open near by.) There is plenty of parking for 15 cars outside and the semi rural location looks very safe so we shall probably stay there again to and from the port.

Tranquilidad a un paso de Santillana
Si quieres sentir la verdadera magia de estar en Cantabria este es el sitio. Lugar súper tranquilo, por la mañana te despiertas escuchando el sonido de los pájaros. A 5 min en coche de Santillana Del Mar . La hospitalidad con la que nos recibe Puri y lo limpio que tiene todo, además nos preparó un desayuno que disfrutamos al aire libre en el jardín que tienen en la propia casa. Ojalá nos pudiéramos quedar más días.

Todo genial, Puri, la dueña, súper encantadora, amable, cercana dispuesta a ayudar en todo momento, aconsejar donde comer, cenar, que visitar.
Todo súper limpio, cuidado y agradable.
Una ubicación inmejorable y muy bien comunicado para visitar muchos sitios cerca del alojamiento.
Sin duda repetiremos ya que el trato ha sido muy bueno y son los lugares donde te sientes como en casa.
El bizcocho casera que Puri nos ofreció en el desayuno es otra delicia que te hace estar como en casa.
Todo súper limpio, cuidado y agradable.

Muy bien
Sitio limpio, ubicación muy buena porque aunque no esté en santillana está a un paso y eso te da la tranquilidad de lo un poco apartado. Está a 10 minutos de suances y a 20 de la preciosa playa de valdearenas. Es cierto que está antiguo, pero eso es lo que tienen las casonas y la limpieza era muy correcta. Desayuno de café y bizcocho casero de chocolate o clásico (casero). Nosotros pagamos 45 euros dos personas con desayuno. Que mas se puede pedir??

COMO EN CASA
Estuvimos alojados mi marido y yo la noche del 16 de Septiembre, en el final de una de nuestras etapas del Camino del Norte, y desde el primer momento tanto Puri como su marido e hija nos hicieron sentir supercomodos, como si estuviéramos en casa. Y al día siguiente el compartir charla con Puro durante el desayuno fue verdaderamente agradable y sus bizcochos de 10. En resumen, no pudimos estar más a gusto. Recomendable 100%.
