Amazing Breakfast, Friendly Staff, Thanks Leah

This is my 4th time staying here at Knickerbocker and it’s my only place of stay in Bathurst. The rooms are a standard pub type accommodation room, but they are cleaned daily to help keep them fresh. All rooms have their own bathroom and all with air con. There is WiFi available but not SmartTV doesn’t faze me as I use a ChromeCast. The staff are very friendly, the cleaner Leah is such an amazing person always open to positive ideas to improve the rooms and the breakfast is absolutely superb the poached eggs the best I’ve had in a while. The only time you enter the actual pub itself is to check-in otherwise it’s a private entrance if you don’t like the pub. I hear very little noise from the pub itself in fact on this visit none just a few machines outside is all the noise I heard didn’t wake me up at night. The pub is directly across the road from the War Memorial Park and close to many attractions including Booky’s Acai. This pub stay gets a huge tick of approval from me what I lose in space it’s made up for by the warmth and friendliness of the place.

Cheap and cheerful needs to be CLEAN

Very disappointing experience. I noticed a stain on my sheets and left a note for housekeeping requesting they be changed and pointing out the stain, I received a note saying "These are clean sheets some come with minor stains." My sheets were not changed, and this in formation in nowhere in the room infor book or booking information (I checked before and after asking for my sheets changed!) Additionally the fan in the room was filthy. You can clearly see the leading edge (and only the leading edge) of each blade it black with grime.
I did not feel comfortable in the room and spent as little time in it as possible.
Staff i interacted with directly were very friendly. Second star is specifically the lovely lady making the breakfast each morning who was very attentive and considerate. I just can't understand sheets not being changed on request, not being front with customers about sheet stains (it's more common these days but in every case you tell the customer BEFORE they have a chance to see a stain!), and having a fan that gross.
I would not stay there again.

One of the best pubs I’ve stayed at

This was my third stay at Knickerbocker & my first stay for two nights. The room was very basic with a good ensuite bathroom, tea/coffee facilities, comfortable bed & split air con system. The room I stayed in had a small table so I could do some work as the WiFi worked well. Breakfast was great with 3 options available plus extra cereal & toast. They allow their guests to park your cars in the secure pub car park that gives you extra safety at night. In all four nights I've stayed here never once have I heard noise from inside the pub or other guests. The staff have been friendly to me on all my visits and on the time I stayed for an extra night they did room service providing me with clean towels & topped up my tea, coffee, milk & biscuits. Knickerbocker is my preferred place to stay in & around Bathurst. I stayed in Room 101 on 13-14 April 2025.

Had a short 2 night stay here en route to Sydney. Perfect place

Had a 2 night stay here and it was perfect. Breakfast included - order the night before. Staff were all very welcoming. Room was amazing all you need and space to put stuff. Shower was incredible. Defs stay here again. Right in town will stay again

Uncomfortable experience

Decided to have a 2 night stay in Bathurst with my partner so booked 2 nights @ the Kinkerbocker as the room online looked cute & neat for a reasonable price. Pubs have a lot of character and I have stayed at a few pub accommodation before and enjoyed it.
Opening the door to the room I was a little overwhelmed that the room was the opposite to what I was expecting.
The room was in the furtherest corner of the hotel away from William Street, creepy vibes & very small. Old seventies decor that is literally about to fall apart, milk crates for chairs would have been better!
The lady cleaning was doing a great job but would be hard work trying to make this dump look good. Due to our room position we were smelling the lovely garbage that is stored at back of hotel.
Our door could have been "jimmyed " open, not very secure.
The guy running the place could have smiled a little, terrible customer service.
Dropped key back to the bar after one night... couldn't spend another night in the bad bed either.
Being mid weekend not busy I'm sure there were other nicer rooms.
