Great location, needs cleaned
The gym as a joke, if you want to worn out count the gym out. And it was absolutely filthy.

First time visit with 4 teenagers.
Pros: Location. With teenagers it was a real win. We could let them go back and forth independently from park to beach to hotel without worry. We had six people in a room and while it was tight, it really worked fine because we were not in the room except to sleep. The toilet is separated from the sink area with a door so one person could shower while another got ready at the sink. My husband and I stayed with the girls in the room with queen beds and the boys were separated by slatted doors to the sofa bed which was nice to have some separation for the girls and boys. The beach was nice and clean right in front of the hotel and it is shallow for at least 50-100 yards out so really great for small children. There is a really nice kiddie pool with a couple of small water slides which my kids would have loved when they were younger. The boardwalk was great for walking and felt very safe at night. My husband and I walked a mile along the boardwalk and walking trail.
Cons: For the price, I do agree with reviews expecting a better bedding experience. Blankets were thin and definitely not up to luxury standards. My daughter did notice that there was a lot of sand on the bathroom floor when we arrived and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were empty. We called the front desk around 5:30 and were told that housekeeping was done for the day but they do a “run” around 6:30. We did get the bottles replaced that evening as promised. I did notice a lot of boats docked close to the beach when we arrived on Sunday but on Monday there were very few. I could see where this would be an issue on a Saturday but it didn’t really affect our experience. The WiFi is definitely not great but our teens never complained so it must have been acceptable. Plus we were rarely in the room so it was really just mildly annoying to us. We ate at both TGIFridays and the hibachi restaurant. Both were overpriced and food was average. I can’t comment on the pools because we didn’t use them but they looked nice. There did seem to be a lot of trash and towels sitting in the hallways, not sure how often they have someone collecting all that but with housekeeping off during the night I guess it causes an issue for clean up.
Overall, we would definitely stay here again. I agree that the hotel should be held accountable for the prices they are charging and they could certainly make some improvements, but for us the convenience was worth a few what we would consider minor issues.

75 Years of Family Tradition Deserve a Better Guest Experience
Rooms:
For the price, the guest rooms simply don't meet expectations. They feel dated, and many are in need of a deep refresh. During our stay, the sheets barely stayed on the bed, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. At nearly $500 a night, guests should expect rooms that feel clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
Check-in:
The check-in process is incredibly inefficient. First, you wait in a long line to check in, then you're sent to wait in another long line just to receive your room key. In 2026, there's no reason this process can't be streamlined with mobile check-in, digital keys, or a more efficient system.
Lakefront:
The beach is CP's greatest asset, but the experience is diminished by allowing boaters to pull up and use the same beach as paying resort guests. This past Saturday was particularly frustrating, as several boats blasted music filled with profanity while our young nieces and nephews were trying to enjoy the beach. Guests paying premium resort rates should be able to enjoy a peaceful, family-friendly waterfront experience.
Pool:
The main pool by the East Wing is showing its age and is in obvious need of repairs. Between the deteriorating condition of the pool and the dated guest rooms, it's hard to justify the nightly rate.
We will continue coming because of the memories, the family traditions, and everything CP has meant to us for generations. But with rates approaching luxury-resort pricing, it's reasonable to expect a guest experience that reflects that investment. Right now, the property simply isn't keeping pace with what guests are paying.

Love Cedar Point But....
- proximity to park and beach
- the nicest beach on Lake Erie with gentle sloping into the water and sand bars
The bad
- suites in Breakers East have dim lighting in the very small bathrooms
- the beds are separated from the sofa bed only by french doors with louvers
- there are no restrictions on boats. They can anchor anywhere offshore and blast loud music. When you are paying $500+ for a hotel room and want to enjoy the beach, there should be limits on boating access. In the past, there was a swimming line and "no boats" buoys further out. Boats were allowed to anchor on the west end of the beach. Now, boats and jet skis can anchor anywhere. This is a concern when adults and children are swimming in the area. On our 2026 visit, a jet ski approached very close to the shore and threw two anchor lines. No one knows where those might be and could step on them. I do not feel comfortable swimming while boats are entering or leaving the area and I am certainly concerned for all the young kids in our family group. I have pursued this with ODNR and will continue to reach out to Cedar Point and Six Flags to see if this can be handled.
