Avoid if possible
Staying at this hotel was NOT a good experience. Check in was a fiasco, I had reserved (and paid for) a king study room. At 3 PM they did not have one available, I was put in a small king room. The baseboards were actually falling off on one wall- rotten! The bathroom door was actually coming apart, the room was dirty. No one at this hotel appeared to care. Please just reserve a room at one of the newer hotels in town.

Stay somewhere else
We stayed one night. That was too long. The hotel is not very clean. The first thing that hit was the smell of dirty mop water. The entire hotel. Check in was fine, I did use the app to check in and out, so no issues there. We got to the room- There was a dirty washcloth dried & stuck to the wall in the shower, some dried junk on the front of the sink, no hand soap and the hand lotion was falling off the wall. Night management was not at all pleasant. I admit, my friend and I probably got loud talking during the night, but a simple phone call to ask us to keep quiet would have been sufficient. Instead, the manager banged on the door and threatened to call the police. Threats as a first notice is not appropriate. I did not appreciate the way it was handled. I did not stay for breakfast. Nothing looked or smelled clean enough to eat from. I will absolutely stay somewhere else when visiting Ruston again.

Stay Somewhere Else
I had the displeasure of staying here four nights for business last week. I always stay at Hampton Inns when I travel because it is a solid brand and I am also a minority owner in two Hampton Inn properties in Las Vegas.
The first thing you will notice upon walking in is the "old" smell. Not horrible, but the smell lets you know this building has been there for quite some time. I noticed as soon as I got into my room that the tank for the toilet was leaking into the bowl, causing the tank to refill every couple of minutes. I reported it immediately and was assured it would be taken care of. The short version of this story is that after mentioning no fewer than 4 times during my stay, no one ever came to fix it. I had to sleep with the bathroom door closed to avoid the annoying sound every other minute.
Then there was the issue of what appeared to be a homeless person helping themselves to breakfast on two separate mornings. Further, it appeared that a hotel employee knew this person who was clearly not a guest of the hotel. Unacceptable. Finally, there was a car in the parking lot which appeared to have been broken into (driver door open and window broken out) which stayed in the parking lot that way for well over 24 hours. Not exactly a great way to instill confidence in your guests that they are in a safe/secure area. I really do love the Hampton brand, but I will never stay here again. Hilton should investigate for franchise license worthiness.

In desperate need of a refresh!
I stayed at this property while on business in Ruston. The staff is great, and the rooms are clean for the most part. This hotel is in desperate need of a refresh. The rooms are dingy and smell dusty. The furniture needs major help as an odor radiates from the sofa. I wish that the owners of this hotel would take a look at the Hampton Inn in Natchitoches, LA, since it is an older hotel that has had a recent refresh. In addition, this hotel used to host a manager’s reception, but discontinued that several years ago. I wish they would bring that back.

Older Property Close to the Interstate
This is an older hotel and definitely in need of renovation. The first room I was assigned had no working lamps, no working phone charging ports and a refrigerator that was also broken. I was moved to another room with only peeling paint above the shower.
The shining star in this less than favorable stay was the front desk attendant, Fateema. She was most accommodating and was determined to try and make all things right. Sometimes a smiling face and a desire to help can make everything better.
