Utmärkta viner och palinkas

Jag bodde här många gånger med mina vänner och jag kan säga om någon vill smaka på den riktiga viner Tokajs kulturlandskap, då är detta platsen att vara. Ägaren gör viner och palinkas på sin egen. Det finns en massa typer av båda. Alla kan hitta en lämplig för sin egen smak. Det är allt om vin gastronomi. De har även en 80 plats vinkällare, som har en stor historisk atmosfär. Utmärkt vinprovning-ställe, och de även laga mat för vinprovning, om så önskas.
Jag skulle starkt rekommendera denna plats om du vill smaka förstklassiga viner och palinkas, och landskapet är också väl värt ett besök!

Great find

The winery and the accommodation are very charming. It was built by the owner. The price is correct for the place. The wife is a very charming ambassador for the region and Hungary. I would definitely recommend this place. I will return on my next trip.

A base camp

You need somewhere to put down your bags and get a night's sleep.
Pataky Barporta fits the bill nicely if you are driving and don't need a ton of services. The house itself is personally decorated with a ton of rustic wooden furniture and rural equipment and wine making artefacts. The surprise hits if you are escorted into the wine cellar; a lot of care and effort has been put into making and upkeep of it. Quite interesting!
Rooms are small, worn out and kitschy but mostly functional. Beds would need to be changed or repaired and constantly barking street dogs of the neighborhood wrangled...
Tokaji wine region consists of some 30 villages and Tarcal is one of them. We managed to get a hold of one of the two taxis operating in the region, so our car could stay behind for some wine exploring...

Place is dirty and cold

Place is dirty and cold, the guy is a jerk. Comparing to the price it doesn't worth it. There is a stove in the hall, the guy puts plastic and trash in the fire, imagine the smell of our clothes.. Just to write something good, the wine and palinka is was good.

Nice cellar, superb host, nice explanation, very good wine and meal.
The owner entertained us himself, while his wife prepared some meal (we were in off-season, without any prior notice).
The wine-maker is very knowledgable and willing to teach you about the Tokaj wine. He is "producing" his own wine - some of them are really special.
Congratulation - will see him next time again
