The hotel has a great location only 10 minute walk from the RAI rail station (10 minute rail journey from Schiphol) and RAI Metro, also 20 minute walk to Europaplein Metro. Only disadvantage was the 20 minute walk to the supermarkets and eateries at Gelderlandplein, but I think there is a local shuttle bus, worth asking about at reception. Breakfast variety was exceptional. Only problem was on my arrival the air con switch was stuck but was soon fixed.

Simple things are needed

In general OK, but I wouldn't repeat, I will look for something better for the same prize. For a 4 star you expect a clean hotel (the hall on the floors was literally with rubbish from other guests, empty glasses, Mc Donald's bags, unbelievable, hours just left there...). The breakfast was expensive and everyday the same, the restaurant wasn't good and the room bathroom didn't have basics such us conditioner, cottons, etc
The windows were dirty

Pleasantly surprised

We stayed here one night and were pleasantly surprised by the clean and modern facilities. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially at the bar and restaurant where we have been well received by manager Francisco. The coffee bar of Stach is also very nice and has super tasty and special products. All in all a very successful stay!

Terrible experience – avoid this hotel!!!

Stayed at Novotel Amsterdam this week for a few days during a business conference, right in the middle of a heatwave (35°C). The air conditioning broke down and they couldn’t fix it — the rooms turned into saunas, making it nearly impossible to stay, sleep or work. Absolutely unbearable.
When we raised the issue, the staff were shockingly rude and unhelpful, showing zero concern for guest comfort or even basic hospitality.
To make matters worse, at breakfast, the staff member from check-in was extremely rude when we asked for two coffees. He kept sending us back and forth between the restaurant and the coffee bar, where no one was even present to serve us.
For a business hotel that claims to uphold a certain standard, the service and overall experience were completely unacceptable.
Would never stay here again. Stay away from this hotel.

We sincerely apologize that your stay did not fully meet your expectations.
We deeply regret the temperature regulation challenges you encountered during the heatwave. Due to the extreme heatwave the AC system broke down and everybody was suffering. We collect as many as possible ventilators from other hotels but unfortunately we could not provide them to all the rooms. We do understand your frustrations. Luckily after one day the AC has been fixed.
Regarding the service interactions, we take your comments to heart. Our multilingual team strives to maintain attentive service standards, and we regret falling short of delivering the hospitality we aim for. The coffee service should have been seamless, as our restaurant and bar teams are trained to accommodate guest requests efficiently. We will discuss this in the coming operations meeting.
We hope you will give us another opportunity to demonstrate our true service capabilities.

Beware: No A/C During Summer – Unacceptable for 4-Star Hotel

“Stayed at Novotel Amsterdam in July. Despite being advertised as air-conditioned, our room had no functioning A/C, which made the stay uncomfortable and sleepless during a heatwave. Front desk acknowledged the issue but offered no solution or alternative. Totally unacceptable for a 4-star hotel at this price point. Will not return, and I caution summer travelers to confirm cooling is operational before booking.
