Loose, filling, cospa is great
The sukiyaki of Maesawa beef is very good and filling. The open-air hot springs are made of rocks, wooden tubs, and various other structures, and you can enjoy them leisurely. The room has a wooden bed on the tatami floor. My preference is a little more solid but well acceptable. I slept soundly listening to Kajika's voice and the sound of the river's current. Wake up at 6 a.m. and relax in the view outside the window. Relax and enjoy the view from the open-air bath in the morning bath. Breakfast is buffet. There were also a variety of Western-style foods, but I opted for Japanese-style. Fill your stomach with nagaimo torororo, natto, konago, and imo kojiru from the morning.
He dropped me off at 9:15 in the morning at Hiraizumi Station. On the way, the driver explained it to me at a cave in Tatsuya.
That's one Eiichi Shibusawa per person. It's a really great inn.

Overall it was comfortable and had a pleasant experience.
Kudos to the reception person - spoke good English, and returned my mobile phone to me that I left on the reception counter.

Exceptional Value
Beautiful rural location, set in spacious, attractive grounds, with pathways along a wooded gorge.
Traditional tatami/shikibuton rooms, onsen and rutemburo, very friendly staff.
Meals are good, served buffet style in a shared dining room.
Free shuttle to Ichinoseki station and World Heritage Site Hiraizumi.
Local bus service to nearby Genbikei rapids, and to Mount Kurikoma.
Popular with ordinary working Japanese, and rightly so.

Big onsen bath!
The rooms are tatami, sleeping on futon laid out by the staff each evening. They are well-heated with private bath. We had a nice view of the snow-covered landscape (mid-January) and a stream that flows through. Yukata are provided, and you can wear them anywhere in the hotel, as well as to sleep.
The set dinner was served in private dining rooms on the first floor. Ours featured choice cuts of Maezawa beef that we grilled ourselves. Breakfast is buffet-style in a large room on the second floor.
The public bath was big and spacious, and also had a nice, but small outdoor bath (rotenburo). The onsen (hot spring) waters are supposed to be good for your skin.
The hotel was quiet when we were there, but some other reviews note that it can be noisy if a big group comes and has a late-night karaoke party after dinner.
