Excellent Stay at Chaston Manor on a Budget
I was looking for a 2 night, budget, solo stay close to Shanklin for my brother's 50th and Chaston Manor Hotel fulfilled my needs perfectly!
Situated about an 8 minute walk away from Sandown station (The Island Line) and the seafront, the location was perfect for me to get around with Shanklin only 2 train stops away.
I stayed in Room 8 (one single bed), a fairly basic room, which faced the front of the hotel and had plenty of light coming in through the windows. Chaston Manor is set back on a main road (Broadway) which is busy during the day however it was much quieter at night during my stay (with the windows closed). If you are a light sleeper, you might prefer a room at the back of the hotel. The bed was comfy and I slept very well. The room and hotel were cleaned to a high standard.
The room had a basic tea station, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe with drawers below as well as a TV attached to the wall.
The bathroom was small, with a small sink and shower, however, it functioned perfectly, had everything I needed and was fairly modern in its style (see my photos).
The staff were friendly and very attentive in making sure I had everything I needed. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was included in the price of my room and the staff were excellent at dealing with my food allergy to milk. I opted for the English Breakfast (see photos) which was beautifully cooked and suitably filling!
In general, I enjoyed my stay at Chaston Manor and would definitely stay again. The staff were very helpful and friendly and my stay was very relaxing with an easy check out. The price for my room reflected what it offered.
A few things that could be improved is the soap dispenser on the bathroom wall. When pressed, the soap squirted at me horizontally! At breakfast, the little pots of honey had started to crystalize.

One of Sandowns finest!
The hotel is run by two lovely people who came to our rescue after our previously booked accommodation was totally unsuitable.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
The rooms were amazing & spotless and contained everything you would need. The breakfast choices were delicious and cooked to order.
Just a short walk to pubs, restaurants, bus-stops and Sandown front. Big car park to the front.
I would unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stunning hotel - an amazing experience
We had an excellent stay at Chaston Manor, one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. The personal touch was something that sets this hotel apart from many others such as chain hotels. The owners are very kind and their attention to detail is amazing with our room cleaned and ready for us two hours earlier than check in time. Additionally, they cleaned the room when we were out and we returned to an immaculately cleaned room with fresh bed sheets and top up of biscuits which was a lovely touch! The room has everything you could need with an ample amount of towels, shampoo, shower gel (in the bathroom) as well as comfortable beds, storage and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was the nicest we’ve had with a huge variety of options, I highly recommend the fruit salad and the full english which used high quality ingredients and was freshly cooked. The owners were lovely and would always ask us how we were and if we needed anything more, which really made the experience. Also, the hotel is in the perfect location within a very short stroll to the beach and nearby attractions such as Dinosaur Isle and Wildheart Animal Sanctuary (a personal recommendation). I also recommend the Caulkheads for dinner. Overall, I can’t recommend this hotel enough and I would strongly recommend staying here if you are wanting to stay in the area. We will definitely be back and thank you again.

Excellent hotel… we will definitely be staying there again on our next visit. The staff were wonderful and really helpful. The extra bit of affection always makes a big difference which you only get from family run hotels like this one.

We had a wonderful stay here. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The family suite was amazing - the website didn’t do it justice! It is two rooms off a separate entrance with 2 bathrooms. My kids loved the bunk beds. Couldn’t ask for more from a hotel. Breakfast was huge and delicious and they catered splendidly for vegans. I needed a nap after breakfast I was so full! A very convenient location - we came by bike and cycled to the beach and shanklin.
