Sapporo City will implement an accommodation tax starting April 1, 2026. The rates are as follows: Tiered Tax - Per person, per night: JPY 0 ≤ Room Rate < JPY 20,000. Tax: JPY 300. JPY 20,000 ≤ Room Rate < JPY 50,000. Tax: JPY 400. JPY 50,000 and above. Tax: JPY 1,000. This represents the combined Hokkaido and Sapporo City accommodation taxes.
